So that American adaptation of Death Note was released for streaming on Netflix this past Friday. I remember the internet getting all worked up (and rightfully so) about whitewashing a movie that could've easily had Asian actors, at least in some important role if not Light himself. The movie is...bad. I had to stop 10 minutes in. Whether or not I'll be willing to torture myself to finish it in the future is likely to be a no. However, I found PLENTY wrong just in the little amount I actually did watch. Where to begin? At the beginning, I guess. Now I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that dude who's playing Light? Nowhere near attractive enough. Not only that, but he seems like an outsider, nerd loser who is not only a loser, but a cheater as well who accepts money for doing other students' homework. Light would NEVER do this. A cold, heartless sociopathic killer he may be, but I can assure you Light NEVER cheated or helped anyone else cheat in school...

More stuff came in the mail! This time I went ahead and ordered physical copies of MONSTA X's Trespass and Rush. In an effort to save on shipping costs, I ordered these from someone else other than my regular go-to k-pop store and was pleased with the cost, speed, and quality of the goods I received.

Excuse my raggedy nails (I'll take that polish off tonight, I promise), but about a month ago, I took the plunge and subscribed to one of those box subscription things. I saw an ad on Facebook from Koreabox about a monthly MONSTA X box. MONSTA X merch delivered to me on a monthly basis? Sign me the fuck up! With the first box, you get a blanket and keychain. You get to pick the member you want, or you can get a group photo. I couldn't decide between getting a Wonho or Jooheon blanket, so I sent them a message on Facebook asking if there was a way I could get a second blanket. I even told them I was willing to pay separately for a second one. They told me they could send me the second one in my next box, no extra charge. I signed up as soon as they told me that.

I'm convinced this cat was a samurai in its past life. It was just chilling outside of a castle. I went to Japan in 2014 for a week. Easily one of the best times of my life. It was a "senior trip" of sorts, mainly because it fell the summer after my senior year of high school. I went with this company called EF, short for Education First. On the last day of that trip, I was already trying to conspire ways to come back. Study abroad would be the obvious option, but an academic semester and even more so a whole year, is a long time and is hella expensive. Beside, I had only been in Japan for seven days and in a heavily chaperoned and sheltered environment. There was no downtime and everything we did was planned out. It took me three years, but I finally found something that fit exactly what I was looking for: EF language courses abroad.

CURRENT MUSIC: MONSTA X / Trespass CURRENT MOOD: Bleh This honestly wasn't supposed to be a major haul or anything. All I did was order the limited edition (I don't know if that's what it's actually called, but that what I'm calling it) of MONSTA X's Shine Forever album repackage. I knew it was going to come with some goodies, but I was not expecting it to be THIS much stuff. Add that to the fact that I also ordered two other MONSTA X items, there was a lot in the small package UPS dropped off this past Monday. Oh, and I've still got a poster on the way. If the store I ordered this from ever decides to ship it.

 Have you guys heard of these? Apparently people make these cute little journals (I think of them like journal/scrapbook hybrids) about K-Pop and other things they like. I've decided to start one of my own. As of right now, it's all K-Pop (99% MONSTA X, let's be honest) related, but I intend to include pretty much anything I may be fangirling over at the moment. These last few weeks, MONSTA X has been pretty important to, so that's what I've been writing about. I would LOVE put something about the GazettE or GACKT in here, but I haven't had anything new to obsess over regarding either one of them (MAKE SOME NEW MUSIC, GACKT, GODDAMN IT) in over a year. I figured this would be a good place to put those photo cards you get with physical album copies and such. I've never really known what to do with them, so I figured putting them in a book would not only preserve them, but keep from losing them as well. It's not like I have a huge collection of them,...
