01. Starting a KPOP Journal

Have you guys heard of these? Apparently people make these cute little journals (I think of them like journal/scrapbook hybrids) about K-Pop and other things they like. I've decided to start one of my own. As of right now, it's all K-Pop (99% MONSTA X, let's be honest) related, but I intend to include pretty much anything I may be fangirling over at the moment. These last few weeks, MONSTA X has been pretty important to, so that's what I've been writing about. I would LOVE put something about the GazettE or GACKT in here, but I haven't had anything new to obsess over regarding either one of them (MAKE SOME NEW MUSIC, GACKT, GODDAMN IT) in over a year.

I figured this would be a good place to put those photo cards you get with physical album copies and such. I've never really known what to do with them, so I figured putting them in a book would not only preserve them, but keep from losing them as well. It's not like I have a huge collection of them, but I did still have the photo card that came with Taemin's PRESS IT album. I've had that CD for over a year, managed to keep up with it this long, and taped it into my journal along with some of my thoughts of that precious boy and his even more precious album.

I started this journal on July 30, 2017. After getting inspired by a few Youtube videos of other people's journals, I got really into collect supplies. I had to remind myself that being the artsy person I am, I already have some arts and crafts stuff like gel pens and markers. What did I not have, though...?

A cute and decent sized notebook. I'm not sure if this notebook is the same size as a composition notebook, but the pages are 7.5"x9.5" and the ruling is like college rule. It's also pretty soft and only cost me about $4. I had an extra print of a Wonho card I tried to print out, but was far too small, so I just taped it to the front. I'm not sure if I'll decorate the cover more than this. I like it's simplicity.

I also didn't have any designer paper. It sounds ridiculous, but it's basically paper with pretty designs. I've since picked up another pack in addition to the one shown here. You get 50 12"x12" sheets. There's 25 different designs and you get 2 pages of each print. Since the pages are so large, I have yet to use an entire sheet. I thought $5 was a good price, and I think these will last me a long time. The only reason I'd see myself purchasing another one of these anytime soon is for new designs.

STICKERS. Who doesn't love stickers? I've always loved stickers but I've never had a good place to put them. Even growing up, I would stick stickers on the furniture and then never be able to get them off. These stickers were 97 cents and really cute, so I got three packs. I will be honest, though, they never really fit with the themes of my pages, so I may run into an issue with finding a real use for them. Haha...

I had to keep myself from buying colored ink pens and gel pens because I already have those. I had bought a set of gel pens last year and have been using them primarily for coloring and have found that they don't really write that well. Well, that write okay, just inconsistently. But who doesn't love GLITTER???

When I get a decent amount of pages in my journal, I think I'll record a video of it. As of right now, I have some random pages (including a profile page) about MONSTA X, I wrote about their Japanese release of Beautiful, Taemin's album like I mentioned earlier, and Seventeen's Highlight. I know Highlight's been out for a while, but I just discovered it like last week. I'm kind of proud of myself since so far, I've been writing in the journal pretty regularly. This past week has been a little slow since nothing of note has really happened, but I'm still mulling over if I want to do a page about NCT 127's Cherry Bomb.

Final Music: TOHOSHINKI / Bolero
