04. My KOREABOX Came!!!

Excuse my raggedy nails (I'll take that polish off tonight, I promise), but about a month ago, I took the plunge and subscribed to one of those box subscription things. I saw an ad on Facebook from Koreabox about a monthly MONSTA X box. MONSTA X merch delivered to me on a monthly basis? Sign me the fuck up! With the first box, you get a blanket and keychain. You get to pick the member you want, or you can get a group photo. I couldn't decide between getting a Wonho or Jooheon blanket, so I sent them a message on Facebook asking if there was a way I could get a second blanket. I even told them I was willing to pay separately for a second one. They told me they could send me the second one in my next box, no extra charge. I signed up as soon as they told me that.

THE BLANKET IS FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!!! I went ahead and got Wonho first because while I can now officially say with conviction that Jooheon is my bias, Wonho is a very, very close second and very, very attractive. So, since his name was first in the list on the dropdown menu, I ordered his blanket first. As you can probably tell, I've pinned the blanket to my wall. I had initially intended to decorate my bed with it (this blanket is second only to the having the real thing on your bed, amirite?), but the angle of the photo looked a little weird to me when it was laying flat on the bed. IT LOOKS SPECTACULAR ON MY WALL, THOUGH. My room's gotten a bit of an overhaul with the new furniture I got this past weekend, and I had a blank spot on my wall that this blanket was made for. 

The keychain they gave me is like a mini pillow. It's double-sided, but the photo is kind of low-res. You can't see their faces as clearly as I would like, but it's a nice keychain regardless.

I knew I was going to get a blanket and keychain, but Koreabox threw in some free edible goodies, a newsletter-like thing about the winter olympics in Pyeong Chang and a really sweet handwritten note. I'll be honest, that handwritten note warmed by heart. The snack I got is some kind of apple flavored pastry, I believe. I haven't eaten it yet. I also got what I believe is some kind of grain and yam drink mix. I'm not so sure about that one, but I'll try it on a day when I'm feeling particularly adventurous. 

I was a little weary about the blanket since I didn't know what it was going to look like beforehand. I knew it was going to be Wonho, but sometimes Wonho does weird things with his face, so I was more worried about what photo was going to be used. Needless to say, they used a great photo of him. I've been glancing at it constantly. I had initially thought about taking it to the dorm with me, but I need to focus while I'm there, so Wonho's beautiful face will be staying home so I can focus on my studies.

I'm very satisfied with not only box, but my interactions with Koreabox as a whole. From letting me get a second blanket to the shipping confirmation with a picture of the box and the girl who shipped it to that handwritten note, I will gladly give them $30 a month. Hell, even if I ever get off this MONSTA X craze (which won't be anytime in the foreseeable future, that much I can tell), I'd probably switch over to a different box since they have a variety of boxes to choose from.
