09. MONSTA X The Code: Protocol:Terminal and DE:CODE Ver.
I got this over a month ago, but regardless of how long I've had it, I still have it so I'm going to talk about it. I went ahead and ordered the two and I'm starting to realize that this whole "2 version" thing is becoming a thing. I only broke down and got this one because without it, I wouldn't have been able to complete the whole image since each version is half and when you put it together, you get the whole thing. Magical.
Despite the fact that I saved a little bit by getting the bundled one versus buying one now and the other one later (or probably never), I still have basically the same album twice. Two copies of a physical CD I can only 1. listen to one at a time and 2. will hardly ever actually listen to since it's 2018 and unless I'm too lazy to plug my phone into the AUX cord of my card, I just never listen to physical CDs because it's not very convenient.
Each version comes with an embedded photo book of a random member. Tell me why I got Jooheon in both. I mean, I fucking love him, but the fact that I managed to get Jooheon photo books twice but still no Jooheon photo card makes it feel like fate is mocking me. The people I ordered this from even threw in I.M's card from the Beautiful album which makes me cry.
Also, if I was a Hyungwon stan, I'd be losing my damn mind right now. I love Hyungwon, don't get me wrong, but now I've got 3 photocards of him, one of the polaroids I got with this are of Hyungwon, one of the CDs is the Hyungwon version, oh, and I managed to get him for one of the folded poster that for the Shine Forever ver. of the Beautiful repackage album. With him being thrown in my face so much, I had no choice but to fall in love with him.
Like I said, I've had the album for a while and bought it digital the day it came out, so I've had plenty of time to listen to it and it's great. Some songs had to grow on me more than others, but I really liked it. And while I liked Dramarama, I kind of feel like it's lacking compared to MX's other title tracks. They said it wasn't supposed to be the title track initially, and I can kind of see why. But that was the song that got them their first win, so that's gotta mean something. My favorite songs are Tropical Night and Now or Never. In Time is beautiful, too and composed by Jooheon, which would explain why I liked it the moment I heard. We really don't get too many MX songs that could be considered ballads, so I really enjoyed this.
And like I said, I now have two photo books of Jooheon so money well spent. Very well spent.
